Dr. Richard Angelo

Dr. AngeloDr. Angelo is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and holds a Sports Medicine Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ). He has specialty fellowship training in knee, shoulder, and Sports Medicine disciplines. His practice focus is on the treatment of disorders of the knee and shoulder including arthroscopic reconstructive and joint replacement procedures. He has a special interest and has lectured nationally and internationally on the development of new arthroscopic reconstructive and minimally invasive surgical techniques for the knee and shoulder. He is the Principle Investigator for the 5 year AANA Copernicus Initiative, groundbreaking research into more effective strategies to train surgical skills. He recently received a PhD for his thesis on 'Proficiency-Based Progression Training - Quality Assured Preparation for the Practice of Surgery'. He is Past President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and has served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Education Committee. Formerly, he served as a Team Physician for the University of Washington Huskies and as Chief of Surgery for Evergreen General Medical Center.
